Opening Night: Lesbian Space Princess
Strap in for an endless stream of sapphic jokes, addictive pop songs, and candy-colored animation in the award-winning LESBIAN SPACE PRINCESS. Saria, an introverted princess (voiced by Shabana Azeez of THE PITT), lives on Clitopolis in the shadow of her self-absorbed mothers and bounty hunter ex-girlfriend, Kiki. But when Kiki is kidnapped, Saria ventures out of her bedroom into the unknown in an attempt to win her back. On her quest, she comes face-to-face with Straight White Maliens, a problematic (space) ship, and, most terrifying of all, her own self-doubt. Don’t miss this ADULT SWIM meets SAILOR MOON joyride.

DOCUMENTARY CENTERPIECE: IT’s DOROTHY!
Since Dorothy Gale started her epic journey down the Yellow Brick Road over a century ago in THE WONDEFUL WIZARD OF OZ, she’s become a celebrity, a brand, and a beacon for marginalized voices. IT’S DOROTHY! brings to life her timeless adventures in Oz through those who’ve played her, from Judy Garland to Nichelle Lewis (THE WIZ), and the cultural icons (John Waters, Lena Waithe, Rufus Wainwright) who she’s inspired to hope and to dream. With a magical remix of archival and cinematic art, director Jeffrey McHale follows up his SHOWGIRLS documentary with another insightful look at a queer cultural touchstone.

NARRATIVE CENTERPIECE: SHE’s THE HE
First-time director Siobhan McCarthy turns the gender-swap comedy inside out in this hilarious, heartfelt, BOTTOMS-esque teen satire. Set during the final week of high school, best friends Alex and Ethan hatch a plan to shut down rumors that they’re gay and get Alex closer to his crush — by pretending to be trans girls. But when Ethan finds unexpected clarity in her new identity, the line between the joke and real life blur in ways for which neither of them is ready.
